Uncia Consultancy (HW) Ltd is a founder-led technology advisory practice in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. Over a decade of independent counsel on strategy, cloud, security and systems — for organisations that prefer precision to noise.
01 — The name
A small word,
carrying weight.
Consultancy is bought on trust. We chose a name that describes exactly how we intend to earn it.
Uncia — a Roman ounce. The smallest measure worth trusting, and the unit in which value is actually felt.
An uncia was one sixteenth of a pound: a precise, honest unit of measure. Our name is a working promise. We weigh what we are told, weigh the options, and weigh the cost — before we recommend anything. Nothing is padded. Nothing is assumed.
The (HW) is simply home: Hartley Wintney, the Hampshire village the company has operated from since it was incorporated in 2015. Small place, long view.

Listen
We start with your people, your constraints and your commercial reality — not a product demo. Most problems are correctly named in the first hour.
STEP 02
Measure
Evidence before opinion: systems audited, costs itemised, risks scored. You receive the findings in writing, in language your board can read.
STEP 03
Advise
Options set out with trade-offs, effort and cost attached. We recommend the one we would take ourselves — and say plainly where we would not spend.
STEP 04
Deliver
Hands on through implementation, or alongside your existing team and suppliers. Knowledge transferred as we go, so you are never held to ransom.

Uncia was incorporated in May 2015 and has been led by Juliet Webb ever since.
As a single-director practice, every engagement is scoped, advised and overseen by the founder herself. Clients get senior attention from the first conversation to the final handover — the accountability of an owner, not the diffusion of a pyramid.
That structure is a choice. It keeps overheads low, communication short and advice undiluted — and it means the practice takes on only the work it can genuinely do well.
